When we arrived at Cícero Costha's Academy in the Ipiranga neighborhood, São Paulo, a dozen of athletes between 16 and 23 years old were still sleeping wrapped in their sheets and scattered across the mats. By 11h30 am, without much agitation, they got up, one by one, and stored their mattresses in the narrow corridor next to the room, preparing themselves for theirs first training of the day.
